Former WWE star Nikki Storm, fka Nikki Cross, has called her upcoming return to wrestling one of the most important nights of her life.

With Storm being one of over 25 names departing WWE as part of the latest round of talent cuts, the former Raw Women’s Champion is set to wrestle for PROGRESS Wrestling on July 26 in what will be her first match in over 18 months.

Since the announcement that Storm will be at PROGRESS Chapter 196: Scorchio, it has now been confirmed that she and her husband Big Damo (fka WWE’s Killian Dain) are to become co-owners of both PROGRESS and DEFY Wrestling.

Storm has now taken to Twitter to highlight the importance of this upcoming appearance.

Sharing a message for her fans, the former “Nikki Cross” wrote:

Nikki Storm’s last match on the UK independent scene saw her lose a Loser Leaves Town match to Sammii Jayne at ICW BarraMania II in April 2016, ahead of joining WWE later that month.

Her WWE run saw her hold the Money in the Bank briefcase, as well as Raw Women’s, Women’s Tag Team, and 24/7 gold, with Storm holding the latter title 11 times, and being the final champion.

Her most recent televised match saw her team with Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan and Joe Gacy against Chad Gable, Ivy Nile and the Creed Brothers on the September 9, 2024 Raw episode.

Her final match for the company saw her team with the same Wyatt Sicks members against Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Akam and Rezar of the Final Testament on the December 29, 2024 non-televised house show.

With Storm and Damo now running PROGRESS and DEFY, it will be interesting to see how much the duo continue to wrestle, both in their own companies and elsewhere.

With Storm already anticipating her UK return, it’s a safe bet that she will receive a warm welcome back during her homecoming.
