Triple H has reflected on Clash in Italy, calling opportunities like this the ‘greatest privilege’ for WWE stars.
The European Summer Tour includes WWE Clash in Italy, which takes place on May 31, along with episodes of Raw and SmackDown across the continent.
Hyping WWE Clash in Italy, a new video showcases the upcoming event, with Triple sharing the video in a tweet that reads:
“Performing for fans around the world is the greatest privilege for a @WWE Superstar. Let’s make history, Turin.”
Ahead of the show at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy, Triple H would share his thoughts on the upcoming event, saying:
“We’re a few days out from Turin, and if I can give one message to the fans, believe me, this will mean as much to us and the WWE superstars as it does to each and every one of you. We cannot wait to get there.
“One of the great things about being a WWE superstar is that global nature of what we do. The ability to go to countries where they maybe don’t speak the same language, maybe the culture is completely different to ours. It really points out the similarities, as opposed to the differences, between us all.
“I’ve heard people say before that music is the universal language, but I think maybe WWE is the universal action genre; it connects with everybody, it’s simple to understand. It’s not country-versus-country, it’s an escape. It’s larger than life superheroes solving their conflicts in our ring. There’s a universal language to that.”

The Importance Of The International Audience Is Seemingly More Than The Privilege
WWE runs regular tours around the globe, bringing a combination of house show and episodes of Raw and SmackDown to international locations, along with Premium Live Events.
While Money in the Bank has taken place in London, England, and both Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 43 are set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next year, there’s certainly a market for PLEs around the globe, as can be seen with the Clash shows that have taken place in Wales, Scotland, Paris and, shortly, Italy, with Germany previously hosting Bash In Berlin.
Cody Rhodes recently revealed that house shows are being used by WWE higher ups to test international locations for potential Premium Live Events, suggesting a drive to get more show into global markets.
Rhodes would go on to discuss the enthusiasm with which international crowds respond to WWE shows, suggesting that the fans have a different level of engagement compared to domestic audiences. Part of that is likely due to the accessibility of WWE shows as a live audience outside of the United States. While fans may travel internationally for a show like Clash in Italy, the same is less likely to be true for a Raw or SmackDown, let alone a house show, unless it is tied to the same location as the PLE.
Hopefully, the reaction to the European Summer Tour will drive a business decision to negotiate with cities for international PLEs, as long as there’s a feeling of value on all sides of the equation.
