NJPW Changes Line-Ups For February 6 & 7 Events Due To COVID-19 Protocols

NJPW has announced several changes to line-ups for the Golden Series events on Sunday (February 6) and Monday (February 7), due to COVID-19 protocols.

Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI, Taiji Ishimori, and Jado have been pulled from the events event, after either presenting a high temperature, or coming into close contact with an individual who has done.

Informing fans on NJPW1972.com, the company noted:

As a result of high temperatures and close contacts, and in accordance with COVID protocols, some wrestlers will be absent from cards on February 6 and 7 in Chiba and Korakuen Hall respectively.

We apologise to fans for any concern and inconvenience caused, and appreciate your understanding.

NJPW had previously cancelled the January 25, 29 and 30 Golden Series shows, postponing the January 28 Aichi show until April 18. The tour will resume on Sunday.

Two tag bouts were changed for Sunday’s card, with Yujiro Takahashi & SHO replacing Jado and Ishimori against Tiger Mask & Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and Tomohiro Ishii & YOH vs EVIL & Dick Togo scheduled, instead of the previously announced 8-man tag contest.

A number of adaptations were made for Monday’s show. Here is the updated line-up:

  • Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato vs. El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru
  • Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Togi Makabe vs. Tetsuya Naito, SANADA & Shingo Takagi
  • Tomohiro Ishii & YOH vs. EVIL & SHO
  • Toru Yano, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima & Yuji Nagata vs. Minoru Suzuki, Taichi, TAKA Michinoku & DOUKI
  • Tiger Mask & Tomoaki Honma vs. Gedo & Yujiro Takahashi
  • Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI vs. Ryohei Oiwa & Kosei Fujita
  • Great-O-Khan vs. Yuto Nakashima
