The new AEW World Champion was crowned at the culmination of this week’s AEW Grand Slam special episode of Dynamite, when Jon Moxley defeated Bryan Danielson in the final of the AEW Grand Slam Tournament of Champions to capture the championship for the third time in his career.
Moxley already has a lot of challengers lined up for him, as MJF earned a title shot by winning the Casino Ladder match back at AEW All Out with the help of Stokely Hathaway and the Firm.
Then, on tonight’s AEW Grand Slam special episode of Rampage, Hangman Adam Page won a chaotic battle royal to earn a shot at the World Championship at the upcoming AEW Dynamite show in Cincinnati, Ohio.
However, there is no rest for the wicked in AEW, as Moxley will be in action on next week’s episode of Rampage, competing in an AEW World Championship Eliminator match against New Japan Pro Wrestling star Juice Robinson.
Also announced for the show are segments involving Saraya, MJF and the Jericho Appreciation Society.
