NXT 2.0 Viewership Up For New Year’s Evil Special

The viewership figures for the January 4 ‘New Year’s Evil’ edition of NXT 2.0, featuring an NXT Championship match, have been revealed.

As per ShowBuzz Daily, Tuesday’s show on the USA Network drew an average of 685,000 viewers. This is up from the  662,000 viewers who tuned in last week, and the highest total viewership since NXT Halloween Havoc, whic was watched by  746,000 fans.

In the 18-49 demographic, this week’s show did a  0.16 rating, the same rating as last week’s show. The special finished 24th for the night on cable.

During the episode, Bron Breakker defeated Tommaso Ciampa via submission to win the NXT Title. The backstage reaction to Breakker destroying the Black and Gold NXT logo during his entrance has been revealed.

Also on the show, the Cruiserweight Championship was officially retired, with North American Champion Carmelo Hayes defeating Roderick Strong in their title unification bout.
