NXT Star Set For Match Against Asuka

An NXT star has been announced as having an upcoming matchup against a major name from the main roster: Asuka.

On tonight’s episode of NXT, Kiana James was in a backstage interview segment where she lamented that she started in NXT at the same time as Roxanne Perez yet continues to not get the opportunities Perez does.

Hence why James decided that she would make sure Perez couldn’t get another shot at the NXT Women’s Championship when she interfered in the women’s three-way match to determine who would face Becky Lynch at night one of Halloween Havoc, costing Perez the match that ended up being won by Lyra Valkyria.

However, James revealed that she had secured an opportunity for Perez next week on WWE NXT as Roxanne Perez will face off against the Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka.

Next Tuesday, October 10, the Wednesday Night War will be resurrected on a rare Tuesday overlap of NXT and AEW programming.

AEW will be airing a special Tuesday edition of Dynamite themed ‘Title Tuesday’ on October 10.

Elsewhere on WWE NXT, Becky Lynch revealed more about her current medical status and confirmed the date of her next title defense.
