NXT Star Out Injured For 6 Months

There have been more updates surrounding a recent injury on NXT, with an NXT star out of action for 6 months.

Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch were recently forced to relinquish the NXT Tag Team Championship due to Burch’s shoulder injury. We now know how long Burch will be off of our screens for.

On NXT last night, it was stated that Burch will be out of action for 6 months. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, this is an unusual timeframe for shoulder separation recovery.

Explaining that competitors often return from shoulder separations quicker, Meltzer noted that there is a high possibility that Burch will undergo surgery before returning to the ring.

Here is the full quote:

“That sounded like a long time for a separated shoulder. It sounds like he’s gonna get surgery because you wouldn’t be out that long. Well every injury is different, but guys have had separated shoulders and come back a lot quicker than that, but if you need surgery that’s a different story. So sounds like he needs surgery.”

Karrion Kross notably separated his shoulder in the same match that he won the NXT Championship. Forced to vacate his title in August last year, Kross was back competing in the Black and Gold ring by December, only 4 months later.

On night 1 of NXT TakeOver Stand & Deliver, there will be a three-way tag-team match for the vacant NXT Tag Team Title. MSK, Grizzled Young Veterans and Legado Del Fantasma will do battle for the prestigious championship.
