Potentially Canceled Opponent For CM Punk At AEW All Out 2023 Revealed

Potentially Canceled Opponent For CM Punk At AEW All Out 2023 Revealed AEW

UPDATE – AEW has announced an update on Ricky Starks’ plans for All Out, which you can read about at this link.

AEW is set for a week of shows in Chicago ahead of this weekend’s All Out, and a lot of plans may have been forced to change.

The shows in Chicago are seemingly now set to go ahead without CM Punk, who was reportedly suspended from the company, along with Jack Perry, following their backstage altercation at All In at Wembley Stadium.

It’s unknown how long the suspensions will last, and therefore unknown if both men will end up missing all the shows this week, but if it is the case, it would mean that Punk won’t be appearing on the All Out event in his hometown of Chicago, which was obviously not the original plan.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), one name who has seemingly been affected by this situation, despite not being involved at all, is Ricky Starks.

Starks’ storyline suspension was changed on Collision last week from 30 days to 28 days, which means it would have expired the day before AEW All Out instead of the day after, where he was being discussed for a huge match.

According to Fightful, one of the matches on the table was Punk defending the ‘Real World Championship’ against Starks, following up from their series of matches on Collision over the past few weeks.

Fightful heard that the match would have likely also been the main event of the show.

There has been no word on the status of the match now that Punk has been suspended following his altercation with Perry at All In, but obviously if Punk’s suspension lasts through this week and/or changes aren’t made to accommodate him being able to work, the match will be off.

We’ll keep you updated on Punk’s status for Collision and All Out as news emerges.

Punk and Perry aren’t at Dynamite tonight, and Fightful reported that Starks isn’t either.
