Paul Wight (Big Show) Returning To Former WWE Promotion For First Time In Nearly 20 Years AEW

Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) has announced that Paul Wight, formerly Big Show, will be making an appearance for the promotion.

OVW tweeted:

THURSDAY! For the first time in almost 20 years @AEW star PAUL WIGHT will return to Davis Arena and OVW TV!

Wight had a couple of brief spells in OVW when it was WWE’s developmental territory, his last match there being a win over The Miz in June 2006.

He also wrestled Batista there in 2000 when Batista was called Leviathan, and John Cena in 2001 when Cena was called The Prototype.

On top of that, he teamed with Brock Lesnar in OVW a couple of times in 2000 as well.

The Thursday, October 19 OVW show he’s advertised for will be streaming live on Fite.

Wight is currently signed with AEW, although he very rarely appears on TV.

His latest appearance was pretty recent though, as he showed up in one of the MJF/Adam Cole skits last month.

MJF and Cole were fishing, but instead of catching a fish, they caught Paul Wight, dressed as Captain Insano, on a giant rubber duck.

Prior to that, he was on the All In pre-show at Wembley Stadium as he, Anthony Ogogo and Grado confronted and got the better of Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt.

It’s unknown if Wight will wrestle at OVW this week or what role he’ll have – the graphic simply says he’ll be returning for the first time in almost two decades.

There have been some more eyes on OVW of late via the show ‘Wrestlers’ on Netflix.
