Nixed Pitch For WWE Women’s Midcard Title Revealed

WWE Raw star Dana Brooke has revealed that she pitched for the 24/7 Championship to become a women’s midcard title.

After spending most of her 2022 in the 24/7 title picture, Brooke officially became the penultimate titleholder when the championship was retired that November.

After losing the gold to Nikki Cross on the November 7 edition of Raw, Cross threw the title into the trash (or attempted to, at least), marking the last time the title was seen on WWE TV.

In an interview with Fightful, Brooke noted that she had a lot of ideas for the gold, including turning the title into a women’s division version of the Intercontinental Championship.

Discussing her pitches, Brooke said:

“Oh, my God. Yes. Yes, I had a lot of things I wanted to do with the 24/7 title. I felt like it was, honestly, everything that I represent.

“I represent champion every single day, whether it be in the ring, outside of the ring, from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to bed, I try and be a champion.

“So, I had a lot of ideas and a lot of passionate things I wanted to do and be serious with it.

“I wanted, actually, to transition it to a women’s Intercontinental title because I feel like that’s something that would motivate women to keep going and have something else to fight for.”

The WWE main roster women’s division currently has three active championships, the Raw Women’s, SmackDown Women’s, and Women’s Tag Team titles.

Becky Lynch and Lita recently won the tag titles from Damage CTRL on the February 27 edition of Raw.
