Potential Spoiler On Changes To Big WrestleMania 39 Match

Potential Spoiler On Changes To Big WrestleMania 39 Match WWE

A potential spoiler on plans for Edge vs Finn Balor at WrestleMania 39 has emerged after the match was officially announced last night.

On the March 13 episode of Raw, Edge vs Balor was made official for Mania in a Hell in a Cell match.

However, there could still be some more wrinkles added by the time we get there.

During the announcement, Finn Balor said that he’s been to hell and hell was no match for his demons, which seemed to hint at the return of his ‘Demon’ persona for the match.

That’s still not official though as WWE’s graphics don’t have him decked out in Demon facepaint or anything like that… yet.

It’s not just that though – Edge might enter the match with a different persona of sorts too.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that, originally, the Hell in a Cell match that was supposed to happen between Balor and Edge at Royal Rumble instead of WrestleMania was going to be ‘Demon’ Balor against a ‘Brood’ version of Edge.

He said:

“At Royal Rumble, the match that was scheduled that they did not have because they had no time to build it up because Edge was doing a TV show – so it was moved – was ‘Demon’ Finn Balor against ‘Brood’ Edge in a Hell in a Cell match.”

That doesn’t necessarily confirm it’s the plan for the match at Mania, but with Balor hinting at the ‘Demon’, and the fact that plans have stuck as far as it still being a Hell in a Cell match, it seems likely we’ll be going in that direction.
