A potential spoiler may have emerged for a new three-man faction that WWE could be planning to debut on TV soon.
The news comes out of this past weekend’s house shows in Ottawa, Ontario and Laval, Québec.
Both shows actually had the exact same seven-match card, just in a slightly different order by the looks of it.
One of those seven matches was a six-man tag team match involving the OC, which is of course the very much established trio of AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.
The more interesting note, however, comes from the team they were against.
On both nights, the OC picked up the win over the team of Austin Theory, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin.
Obviously, with it being a house show, there’s a chance it doesn’t really mean anything beyond the OC needed three opponents, but the flip side of that is WWE often uses house shows to try things out before putting them on TV, so there’s a chance it was a test run of sorts.
Or, even if that wasn’t the intention, if Theory, Alexander and Benjamin worked well as a group, it gives them something to ponder.
Theory may well need a new direction on TV soon as he just lost the United States Championship, although he does have a rematch for it against new champion Rey Mysterio coming up soon.
As for Alexander and Benjamin, they’ve only been seen on WWE TV a small handful of times this year, not being featured on Raw since June when they were destroyed by Indus-Sher, and not winning on TV since way back in February.
A reunion with former Hurt Business ally Bobby Lashley also looks to be out of the question as he’s formed a new group with the Street Profits instead.
