To kick start tonight’s AEW Dynamite, a big match between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page with title implications.
A match between Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page started tonight’s February 7 Dynamite with the winner set to go on to face Samoa Joe at AEW Revolution.
With a series of near falls and big spots including Swerve putting Hangman through a table with Hangman’s own Deadeye finisher, there was a rare ending.
While Swerve was able to get Hangman seemingly in his grasp ready to be pinned, just as the referee hit the two count, the bell rang.
The match was over as it had reached the 30 minute time limit draw.
When Swerve Strickland got on the microphone to challenge Hangman Adam Page to five more minutes, Page said no.
While Hangman may have thought he blocked Swerve’s shot at the title, they were both interrupted by Tony Schiavone.
Tony revealed that he had gotten word from AEW President Tony Khan who informed him the AEW World Championship match at Revolution on March 3 would now be a three-way match.
Samoa Joe will defend his AEW World Championship against both Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page on pay-per-view.
