The real reason Brock Lesnar returned on tonight’s WWE Raw instead of at Money in the Bank looks to have been revealed.
According to a report from WRKD Wrestling, Brock’s return was delayed purposefully after the plans for Money in the Bank included other big names from the company making surprise returns.
WRKD tweeted:
“Plans had changed before Money In The Bank, with McIntyre and Cena returning, the thought process was that Brock’s return would be diminished after multiple other surprises in the evening.”
There was a chaotic opening to tonight’s WWE Raw with several angles seemingly to take place in rapid succession beginning with Seth Rollins.
Opening the show was Seth Rollins, who came to the ring and ran down the goings on that fans may have missed from this weekend’s premium live vent, Money in the Bank.
However then he was interrupted by Cody Rhodes who barely got out a greeting before he was interrupted by the return of Brock Lesnar.
With the Beast’s music hitting, Rhodes wasted no time running at him up the ramp however they would eventually brawl back towards ringside.
It was Rhodes who would get the upper hand by the end of the exchange though, leaving Lesnar as the one who was leaving dejected.
Rollins for his part remained in the ring and went on to set up a match for later in the show against Dominik Mysterio.
