The real reason Kazuchika Okada looks set to miss the June 26 AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door show may have been revealed.
It was announced by Adam Cole on Dynamite last night that Okada wouldn’t be at Forbidden Door, one week after Adam Page had challenged Okada to a match.
A lot of fans were disappointed that one of NJPW’s biggest stars wouldn’t make the card, but it sounds like there’s a very fair reason.
On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said:
“Okada’s wife is scheduled to give birth right around that time. So that may be the reason that Okada is not on the show.”

It’s looking like Adam Page will instead be facing Jay White, who just beat Okada for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. It could also be a three-way involving Adam Cole.
