The reason behind Ivar getting a singles push in WWE has been revealed after the Viking Raiders haven’t competed as a duo for nearly a month.
Erik & Ivar were last seen teaming together on the September 14 episode of WWE Main Event defeat Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin.
Recently Ivar has been in singles action again Kofi Kingston on the September 18 episode of WWE Raw and Xavier Woods on the October 2 episode, with Erik nowhere to be seen.
The reason behind this singles push was revealed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter with Dave Meltzer writing:
“The decision was made because Ray Rowe (Erik) is out after surgery, said to be for at least six months, is to push Ivar as a singles player.
“In the past when one member of a tag team that’s usually an exclusive team gets hurt, they’ve just not used the other much.”
WrestleTalk wishes Erik well in his recovery from surgery.
Ivar is set for a rematch with Kofi Kingston on the upcoming October 9 Raw, this time in a Viking Rules match.
