Many fans in attendance and at home were left slightly confused at the sudden finish to the match between Samoa Joe and Rey Mysterio at last night’s Money in the Bank.
Not only did the match last about 2 minutes, but Joe’s shoulder was so far off the canvas that you could have parked Vince McMahon’s limo underneath it.
On that first point, PWInsider is reporting that the match was cut short due to Joe suffering a broken nose early on. Backstage officials were worried about the amount of blood coming from Joe’s nose, and the decision was made to end proceedings early.
The post-match angle went as planned, with Joe beating down on Mysterio while Rey’s son Dominick watched on, and this will presumably lead to the continuation of this feud, perhaps with Dominick getting involved in some way.
