Becky Lynch returned to WWE this past weekend at SummerSlam, and unsurprisingly fans were thrilled to see one of their heroes return to the ring…or at least they were thrilled for a few minutes.
Unfortunately, a lot of fans have been left unhappy with Lynch’s booking, as she immediately squashed SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in a few seconds to win the belt.
Fan outrage followed, as many were shocked to see Bianca squashed after her historic title win at WrestleMania 37 in April.
While many simply assumed this was WWE giving Becky a big babyface champion push on her return, a new report from PWInsider suggests Becky Lynch is now seen, by WWE at least, as one of the promotion’s biggest heels.
PWInsider reports multiple sources within WWE have confirmed to them that Lynch is now a heel, and will be positioned as the top heel on SmackDown alongside Roman Reigns.
Presumably the idea is for Becky to feud with babyface Bianca Belair following the shock result at SummerSlam, because the story is now ready-made.
