Rey Mysterio has stated that he has ‘very exciting news’ to share on Thursday.
The legendary luchador took to Twitter to tell fans to remember the date, December 9, 2021. Teasing huge implications for the history of ‘Rey Mysterio’, the WWE star said:

Mysterio’s tweet featured red, white and blue emojis, suggesting that his news is US-related.
The announcement could be to do with the legacy of his mask. Rey’s son, Dominik recently revealed that his long-term goal is to inherit the iconic headgear and adopt the ‘Rey Mysterio’ name. It was also reported last month that a break-up of the Mysterios, and a father-son feud were happening soon.
It has also been speculated that Rey’s announcement will be surrounding WWE 2K22, with many pointing out that the photo shared has Mysterio framed similarly to other stars who had previously been interviewed for a 2K Showcase mode.
