Ric Flair reveals the pitch that he delivered to WWE that they inevitably passed on before he made it official and joined with AEW.
In a chat with business partner Chad Bronstein from his WOOOOO Energy drink and Marc Raimondi from ESPN, Ric Flair shared more details about how his partnership with AEW came to be including first talking to WWE.
In the conversation, Flair said:
“As a courtesy we ran it by the WWE and they have so much going on, no fault of anybody’s but with the merger and all that they have so much going on that they kind of just, moved past it in other words.
“It was no disrespect to us whatsoever, they just weren’t doing anything at the time.
“So I ran it by Tony Khan and Tony called me and I put Chad on the phone, the brains behind it all and here we are man.
“I think it’ll air for the first time this coming Wednesday on Dynamite next Wednesday.”

With partner Bronstein going on to confirm that “across the United States and everywhere they air,” they’ll be the official energy drink sponsor of AEW.
Flair is looking forward to the worldwide exposure for the energy drink, noting that AEW is going back to London in 2024 for AEW All In and hopes he will join them for the trip.
Reflecting that he has always been treated well when visiting AEW, “the guys were great, the people were friendly” but he doesn’t know exactly how many appearances he will make on AEW television.
