Popular Independent Star Opens Up About ROH & Not Signing

A popular independent wrestler who made their ROH debut during the Orlando TV tapings has opened up on the experience and not signing yet.

Billie Starkz appeared at the Orlando tapings with speculation that she may have signed with the Tony Khan-led company.

Starkz is still a free agent and has recently discussed the ROH experience and signing a contract with Denise Salcedo, saying:

“Honestly amazing. I had so much fun while I was down there. I just got to hang out with a bunch of phenomenal wrestlers, and it was also funny because ROH, when I was younger, was shows I would go to and joke, ‘Oh, if I wanted to choose anywhere to be, I would want to be here.’

“It’s crazy to think about because there was such a vibe to ROH, and I feel like it has that vibe again. It’s even bigger than what it was before. I’m just to grateful that I was able to be a part of it.”

She would reveal some details of her backstage interactions with the ROH roster, adding:

“I also messed with a bunch of the guys who have been ROH for a minute. I posted the picture of me, like stupid young, hanging out with Maria Kanellis and the Kingdom when I was just a baby.

“I was like, ‘Yeah, I used to go to shows and watch you guys. Now you have to work with me.

“Everybody was like, ‘You make me feel old.’ I even joked with Bryce the ref, he was like, ‘Yeah, I was looking at your social media, and I saw the poster, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, I reffed those shows. She’s a child.’

“[Laughs] I was like, ‘I had to grow up, I’m sorry. I’m still so young.’ They’re like, we love it, but you make us feel old sometimes. You can’t do this to us.”

On the subject of signing a contract to be a full-time wrestler, Starkz revealed:

“I’m kind of just enjoying this ride and the high that I’ve been on. I have currently not signed anything.

“My goal right now is to finish out high school. I graduate in May, and I still want to be fully committed to school.

“So finish this year off strong, I only have a couple months left, and we’ll see where wrestling and this crazy life I love takes me afterwards.”
