Roman Reigns Hits Major WWE Milestone That Hasn’t Been Reached In Decades WWE

WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns has now hit a major milestone which hasn’t been reached by another star for 35 years.

Reigns has been recognised as the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion since unifying the Universal and WWE championships at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022.

The Tribal Chief had already held the Universal Title for a long time at this point, in a reign which WWE still recognises as ongoing, despite the title unification.

Reigns won the Universal Title in a three-way bout against Braun Strowman and the late Bray Wyatt at Payback 2020.

This event took place on August 30, 2020, exactly three years ago today.

The top star’s three-year title reign is an incredible feat, as pointed out by Wrestling Stats & Info on Twitter, no other star has held a WWE world title for over three years in over 35 years.

Reigns stint with the undisputed gold hasn’t exactly been short either. While he has held the Undisputed Title for 1095 days, he has been recognised as the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion for 514 days now.

He most recently defended his gold, and title of Tribal Chief, at SummerSlam against Jey Uso.

WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER is also currently having a reign for the history books, with the Ring General less than 10 days away from breaking the all-time record for the longest Intercontinental Title reign.

GUNTHER’s last title defence ahead of breaking this record has potentially been revealed.
