Roman Reigns Next WWE Opponent Update

Roman Reigns Next WWE Opponent Update WWE

An update has emerged on Roman Reigns’ next match, with one star ruled out for his next Undisputed WWE Universal Championship defense.

Reigns most recently wrestled at the November 5 Crown Jewel premium live event, defending his title against fan-favourite LA Knight.

With Knight losing following interference from Jimmy Uso, many fans have called for Knight to get one more opportunity at Reigns’ gold.

Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Knight is not the planned opponent for Reigns at Royal Rumble 2024 in January.

Noting that Paul Levesque (Triple H) has another plan for Reigns at the upcoming premium live event, Meltzer wrote:

We were told that as of this time Reigns vs. Knight is not the title match at Rumble. That is Reigns’ next match.

There are those who feel it should be Knight in that spot but we were told Levesque has another plan right now.

With Roman Reigns only wrestling seven televised/PLE matches in 2023, some fans have criticised the Tribal Chief for having such a relaxed schedule while holding the top title in WWE.

Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER has now shared his honest thoughts on Reigns’ lack of matches this year, which you can read more about right here.

Royal Rumble 2024 will emanate from Florida’s Tropicana Field on January 24, 2024.

The event will feature men’s and women’s versions of the iconic Royal Rumble match. The most recent winners were Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley, who won the 2023 iterations of the match.
