A new report has provided an update on a rumoured LA Knight contract extension with WWE.
As previously reported, LA Knight and WWE has been close to agreeing to a contract extension for the popular SmackDown star.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has provided an update, noting that it is true that Knight and WWE have been engaged in extension talks, and that a five-year deal was offered.
However, the report notes that the two sides were far apart on money as of now, and that no deal has been agreed to and doesn’t appear imminent. The two sides will keep negotiating at this time ahead of his deal expiring.
Another WWE higher up stated that there isn’t any truth to the idea that LA Knight’s ongoing push on SmackDown is tied to the contract extension negotiations.
The higher up noted that a significant number of wrestlers on the WWE roster have contracts coming up next year in 2024 and are still getting pushes on both Raw and SmackDown.
The report also notes that Knight’s current WWE deal runs well into 2025, and has over a year and a half left on it.
WrestleTalk will continue to provide further updates on LA Knight’s WWE contract extension talks when they become available.
