AEW commentator Taz has addressed his son Hook’s recent challenge to AEW World Champion Samoa Joe on the January 6 episode of Collision.
Following this week’s Dynamite, which saw names such as Swerve Strickland, Wardlow and Hangman Page throw their name into the hat to challenge the new world champion; Collision saw a far more unlikely name step up.
That being the current FTW Champion Hook.
While Hook boasts an impressive win/loss record, not many fans had him earmarked for a world title shot any time soon; on Collision however, the second generation star took the chance to call out the Samoan Submission Machine.
Given Joe’s dominance and Hook’s youth and lack of main event level action thus far in his career, one Twitter user decided to make an observation to his father Taz, which drew a response from the ECW legend.
The Twitter user said:
Mister Taz, I think your son has a death wish.
To which Taz responded, implying that Hook is not intimidated by Joe or anyone else, replying:
Nope… no fear, he’s always give zero f**ks.
Despite the perceived mismatch, Hook is coming off some strong momentum following another successful defence of his FTW Championship at Worlds End; defeating Wheeler Yuta in the pay-per-view’s Zero Hour pre-show.
