Samoa Joe Backstage At WWE Performance Center This Week

A new report has emerged that there’s speculation amongst people in NXT that Samoa Joe could make a return to the brand.

Joe was released by WWE this past April, and Fightful Select is reporting that numerous people in NXT had heard about interest in bringing Joe back.

“Over half a dozen” people within the company said the interest from NXT’s side would be for Joe to wrestle, and someone outside said that too.

The report does make it specifically clear that there’s no indication that an offer has been made, or even that one will be made.

This is merely something that talent have heard and speculated about, but some do believe it’s going to happen.

Samoa Joe was released in April and the belief was he wanted out because he couldn’t get cleared to wrestle after a number of injuries.

UPDATE: Fightful Select provided an update to their original report, saying Samoa Joe was backstage at the WWE Performance Center this week. It was not revealed why he was there. However, they were able to confirm that there have been pitches to bring Joe back to NXT.
