Samoa Joe will be rejoining the Raw commentary team for tonight’s set of television tapings. He has been off television since suffering a concussion and being suspended in early February.
WWE is set to tape one episode of Raw tonight and air another live. It is unknown whether Joe will be doing commentary for just one episode of the show or both.
The decision was reportedly made to attempt to limit the amount of travel being done by the people in attendance. There is also no word yet on who Joe will replace at the commentary table or if they will just run with a four-man team.
While it may not be related at all, Jerry Lawler has been in hot water since making a racist remark on commentary two weeks ago. He may be chosen as the one to leave the booth, however, that may also be as a result of his age as much as anything. This, for the time being, is merely speculation.
Joe did commentary on Raw during the latter portion of 2019 and received praise for his work. He was recovering from a thumb injury at the time.
