An update has emerged on Saraya’s first AEW Women’s Championship defence, with Saraya to defend her title at an upcoming event.
Saraya won the AEW Women’s Title at All In London, winning a fourway bout to become the champion in front of her family.
With Saraya only returning to the ring following a serious neck injury in November 2022, there has been some speculation about how often she will wrestle moving forward.
An AEW Women’s Title match has now been announced for the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam show on September 20.
As of writing we don’t know who her opponent will be, but the #1 contender will be determined on next week’s edition of Dynamite.
On the September 13 show, a fourway eliminator bout will take place.
Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, Nyla Rose and Toni Storm are set to face off, with the winner to challenge for Saraya’s title at Dynamite Grand Slam.
Saraya previously shared an update on her wrestling future following her AEW Women’s Title win, which you can read more about right here.
An AEW World Title bout will also take place on Dynamite Grand Slam, with Darby Allin, Roderick Strong, Penta El Zero Miedo and Samoa Joe winning their quarter final matches on this week’s show.
The semi-final bouts are slated to take place on the September 9 edition of Collision.
