Saudi Arabia Potentially Eyeing Another Major WWE PLE? WWE

Saudi Arabia may be eyeing up a third major WWE PLE after expressing interest for WrestleMania or Royal Rumble.

Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, has reportedly stated that he “is looking to bring January’s annual Royal Rumble or WWE’s top event, WrestleMania, to Saudi Arabia.”

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has revealed that Saudi Arabia may be looking at another one of the Big Four PLEs, stating:

“Besides the two shows at 50-55 million a year that they’ve been doing, they are looking at a bigger payout for the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania, maybe Survivor Series – but one of those events.”

Endeavor President Mark Shapiro recently discussed WWE’s relationship with Saudi Arabia during the TKO Q1 earnings call, saying:

“We have a strong and healthy relationship with the Kingdom, through WWE, and doing two annual events a year…

“Potentially, we could look to do more events, but nothing is planned beyond those two events at this time.”

WWE returns to Saudi Arabia on May 25 with the King & Queen of the Ring having last been in the Kingdom for Crown Jewel in November 2023.

Since 2018, WWE has run two events per year in Saudi Arabia, one taking place in the early year and the other toward the back end of the year.
