Here’s what happened with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins after Payback 2023 went off the air.
In the main event of the September 3 premium live event, Rollins put his title on the line against Shinsuke Nakamura.
The Visionary ultimately retained his gold, ending a roll-up sequence with his signature Stomp to keep Nakamura down for the three-count.
The show went off the air with Rollins celebrating in the ring, and Nakamura complaining at the ringside area.
WWE has now shared a video revealing what happened next, which you can watch below.
After the cameras stopped rolling, Adam Pearce attempted to help Rollins up the ramp to the back.
They didn’t get far before Nakamura attacked Rollins, beating him down against the guardrail.
After teasing that his attack was done, Nakamura returned to drop Rollins on the stage, before bowing to the audience.
Prior to their Payback match, Nakamura indicated that he’ll continue to target the world champion’s back, as Rollins is dealing with several back issues.
Rollins recently shared details on his legitimate injuries, which you can read more about right here.
