Several Johnny Gargano References Made On WWE Raw

Tonight’s WWE Raw show took place in Cleveland, Ohio, the hometown of former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano, leading to a lot of speculation about him possibly returning on tonight’s show.

Fans began to expect Gargano to appear during Ciampa’s United States Championship match with Bobby Lashley, and while Gargano did not show up during the match, he was referenced heavily.

During the match, Ciampa locked in Gargano’s signature ‘Gargano Escape’ submission hold which prompted Corey Graves on commentary to say ‘if you want something done, you have to do it yourself’, obviously referencing the DIY team of Ciampa and Gargano.

It all felt very much like when subtle references to Cody Rhodes were made prior to WrestleMania this year.
