Shane McMahon Reportedly ‘Let Go’ By WWE

Shane McMahon made his return to WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble event, and chaos quickly followed him.

Shane reportedly helped produce the Rumble match, where he later received a lot of backstage heat for ‘attempting to book the Rumble around himself’ and ‘openly burying’ producer Jamie Noble.

Shane was scheduled to compete in the Elimination Chamber match and was at one point planned to begin a WrestleMania program with Seth Rollins. The idea of McMahon facing Bobby Lashley was also floated.

However, in the latest twist of this short Shane McMahon rollercoaster, we should not expect to see Shane McMahon on TV at all, as Ringside News – which has had several backstage reports recently confirmed by the likes of Fightful and Dave Meltzer – is reporting that Shane McMahon has been ‘quietly let go’ from the company.

A tenured member of the WWE creative team told Ringside News that the writers were told in a ‘semi-quiet way’ that there will be no more creative discussions about Shane McMahon, and they have now moved on to other creative discussions.

The term ‘blackballed’ has not been used, but Vince McMahon has quietly been using the term ‘let go’ to describe the situation.

Update: Ringside News’ original report has since been confirmed by Dave Meltzer, reporting that Shane “McMahon is ‘out of the company’ but it’s unknown whether his talent deal was terminated or if the plans for him the next two months were simply dropped.”
