There have been fears that former WWE and tag team champion Sheamus could be on the verge of in-ring retirement due to continuing health issues.
Sheamus has had long-running issues with his neck and is currently taking time out to rehab following a concussion suffered earlier this year.
But it looks as though the Irishman is determined to get back in the ring, and during a recent media scrum at a sports bar he said:
“I’m trying to get better. I miss the ring.”
His former tag partner Cesaro looks to be a full-time singles star now that Sheamus has been away for several months, and will be part of the King of the Ring tournament which starts on Raw next Monday night.
His injuries have been described in the past as something similar to what Tommaso Ciampa and Edge suffer from, so it’s clear that there are major issues that need to be addressed.
At 41, Sheamus is far from past it, and has been part of some of the best tag team wrestling WWE has put on in the past decade. His Celtic Warrior Workout videos are enough to prove to anyone that he is still in absolute peak physical condition, so it’s just a case of being ready to return to a full-time WWE schedule.
