The September 3, 2018 edition of Raw placed host to a fair few shocks, most notably the TV return of the Undertaker. There was, however, another surprise that took place.
WWE Raw Tag Team Champions the B-Team were set to defend their titles against the Revival heading into the show.
However, things took an interesting turn when Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler attacked Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson during the latters’ pre-match backstage interview.
This led to acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin replacing the scheduled challengers with Drew and Dolph themselves, and after a fairly competitive match, they landed the ZigZag/Claymore combo to pick up the win and become the new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions.
Later in the night, the pair accompanied Braun Strowman at ringside for his match against Finn Bálor. Following a pretty dominating win for Strowman, the trio continued the beatdown, only for the SHIELD to attempt to make the save.
Now, earlier in the night, the SHIELD were arrested for… wanting to wrestle on a wrestling show. Yeah. Basically they wanted to fight Braun, Drew and Dolph, which led to a massive pull-apart brawl, so Corbin had them arrested.
And then when they turned up at the bottom end of the show, it was in a police van after they’d been released. So what happened is they were released from prison and stole a police van on their way out. Right. Probably not the best idea, like.
Anyway, Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose were then ambushed by all the heels in the Raw locker room to close out the show.
