SmackDown Star Continuing New WWE Backstage Role WWE

SmackDown star and former NXT Tag Team Champion Pete Dunne has been continuing his new WWE backstage role.

2024 has already seen a lot of changes in the career of Pete Dunne. After dropping the “Butch” name for his original NXT moniker, Dunne has reunited with Tyler Bate to form the New Catch Republic tag team.

Despite the duo coming up short against The Judgment Day for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships at Elimination Chamber, they have kept their momentum over on the SmackDown brand.

As previously mentioned, Dunne has also been working as a producer for the new WWE Speed show and its matches.

Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that Pete Dunne has once again produced the WWE Speed matches this week during the SmackDown tapings, which were Dragon Lee vs. Ricochet, and Bronson Reed vs Cedric Alexander.

WWE Speed is set to premiere this coming Wednesday, April 3 on the company’s Twitter/X account.

Pete Dunne will team with Tyler Bate to compete in the Six-Pack Ladder Match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 40.

WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on Pete Dunne’s status as a WWE producer when they become available.
