Speculation On Tony Khan’s ‘Important Announcement’

AEW president Tony Khan is set to once again make an important announcement on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, with a lot of speculation on what he could be set to announce.

Fightful Select (subscription required), has spoken to some AEW talent regarding the announcement and what it could be.

The report notes that, as of now, the exact announcement that Khan is set to make is not known, but talent have speculated a lot of plans in the works and upcoming announcements.

One of the popular theories among the AEW locker room is that it will be the date and location of the upcoming UK show, with the OVO Arena Wembley in the Summer picking up steam among the roster as a possibility, with a couple of members at the top of the roster pushing for that.

Another rumored announcement is that of an upcoming Saturday show. Fightful notes that they have long heard chatter that there could be some roster parity between the shows.

It is not known what that would mean for Rampage or Ring of Honor, but it is an idea that Fightful has heard discussed.

ROH talent had also spoken about how they hope the brand will start traveling more soon, though those that spoke to Fightful believed that was more wishful thinking and would not be related to tonight’s announcement.

Finally, Fightful has not heard that CM Punk returning to the company would be a possible announcement, but they did note that Khan and Punk have talked many times in recent months.
