Company Issues Statement After Former WWE Star Velveteen Dream In-Ring Return WWE

A wrestling promotion has issued a statement after hosting the in-ring return of former WWE star Velveteen Dream.

Dream, real name Patrick Clark, was released by WWE in 2021 after several different allegations of inappropriate sexual activity.

He had remained out of the ring from then until this past weekend, when he wrestled for New York-based promotion Dynasty on February 17.

The promotion received a lot of criticism after the appearance, but has since commented on its decision to host the return.

Dynasty tweeted:

Last night, we did what most others wouldn’t. We took a risk on a person, & gave them an opportunity for a 2nd chance. A 2nd chance to fulfill their DREAM. We stand by that decision.

Thank you to the PACKED house for last night’s event! #WearetheDynasty

Dream, now going by the name Velveteen Man, picked up the win over Alec Odin.
