It has unfortunately emerged that Jose Luis Alvarado Nieves, known in wrestling as Super Porky and Brazo de Plata, has passed away.
The news was announced on Mas Lucha, and both CMLL and AAA have made tribute posts on social media.
No cause of death is known at this time.
He made his debut in 1977 as Brazo de Plata, before joining CMLL in 1985, where he worked for the next 20 years.
He adopted a comedy gimmick as ‘Super Porky’, and was briefly in WWE as part of the SmackDown juniors division in 2005 before being released in 2006 and going to AAA.
He stayed with AAA until 2009 and continued working indies and with CMLL until 2016.
We send our condolences to Nieves’ family, friends, and all those affected by his passing.
