Endeavor and TKO Group President & COO Mark Shapiro has commented on the possibility of tying WWE and UFC broadcasting rights together for a ‘short term deal’.
WWE and UFC were officially merged into one publicly trading company on September 12, with this new ‘TKO’ group existing under Endeavor.
With WWE’s current TV deals coming up, it has been speculated that Endeavor/TKO could offer WWE and UFC rights under the same deal in the future.
Speaking with Sports Business Journal, Mark Shapiro noted that a ‘short term deal’ could be possible, noting:
“There could be a short-term deal we do just to align the two.
“It all depends on market dynamics and right now, time is on our side. We’re not rushing to do a deal”
WWE President Nick Khan recently commented on company’s upcoming media rights renewals coming up next year, which you can read more about at this link.
Nick Khan also discussed a potential big change to upcoming WWE premium live events following the merger, which you can see here.
