AEW President Tony Khan has discussed potentially stepping down as booker for the company during the AEW Dynasty media call.
All Elite Wrestling celebrated their 5-year anniversary in January 2024. Since the inception of the promotion, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan has also served as the booker for the company.
Despite the successful storylines and feuds seen on the programming, there has been a section of fans who believe Khan needs to hire someone with more experience to take over the company’s booking.
During the AEW Dynasty media call, Tony Khan was asked if there was any situation where he thinks he would step down as head booker and let someone else take over.
Khan answered that no one lasts forever in any position. He said he’s having more fun than ever right now.
On his mindset towards the company’s creative process, Khan stated that he takes things year to year and moment to moment. He said many wrestlers are loyal to him right now and he’s going to do his best to pay them back.
AEW Dynasty will take place from St. Louis, Missouri this Sunday, April 21 and will be headlined by Samoa Joe defending the AEW World Title against Swerve Strickland.
Also, FTR will face The Young Bucks in a Ladder Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships and Will Ospreay will go one-on-one with Bryan Danielson for the first time. For the full lineup for the show, click here.
