A top AEW name wishes they saw FTR more often.
After the best year of their careers in 2022 holding the IWGP Tag Team Championships, ROH World Tag Team Championships and AAA World Tag Team Championships, FTR has started out 2023 with no gold and currently off AEW television.
During a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, AEW commentator Jim Ross praised Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler and stated that he misses the duo on television. JR stated:
“FTR is a great team. They may be the very best tag team in all of pro wrestling right now. I know that’s gonna piss off some guys, but just one guy’s opinion, so get over it.”
“We’ve been blessed with some great teams in AEW. Any way you wanna judge what great teams are, you find yourself talking about FTR. I’m a big fan of their work, their work ethic. Wish I saw them more often, quite frankly.”
FTR was last seen on All Elite Wrestling TV in a loss to Austin and Colten Gunn on the December 21, 2022 Holiday Bash edition of AEW Dynamite.
On the February 8 episode, The Gunns defeated The Acclaimed to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships. They will now defend the titles in a four-way match against The Acclaimed and two other teams at AEW Revolution on March 5.
