As of three weeks ago, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was reportedly planning on taping the Sting & Darby Allin vs. Ricky Starks & Brian Cage match at Revolution in a cinematic manner.
Dave Meltzer has revealed on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that AEW was planning on having the match be cinematic as of a few weeks ago, and noted that this could still be the plan:
“It’s cinematic so there’s actually going to be a lot of weird stuff unless they change it. I can’t say 100% it’s cinematic, but I was told it was cinematic three weeks ago. I haven’t been told differently. I suppose it still is, it could change.”
When the match was first booked, Sting had not yet taken a bump in AEW so some speculated that the match would be cinematic to get around the fact he couldn’t get physical. However, he has since been powerbombed by Brian Cage.
As always, WrestleTalk.com will have live coverage of AEW Revolution on Sunday night, so make sure you check back for the results and our thoughts during the show.
