Top Star Thinks WrestleMania Was His Sign To Leave WWE

A popular SmackDown star has discussed his WrestleMania 37 match, and why he’s now thinking about leaving WWE.

During the final main event of WrestleMania 37, Daniel Bryan and Edge unsuccessfully challenged for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship. Bryan has recently noted that this match might’ve been his sign that he should hang up his wrestling boots for good.

Speaking with BT Sport, Bryan noted that he felt an odd disconnect during his match. Noting that he hadn’t felt anything like it in wrestling before, Bryan revealed that he’s pondering whether he is done as a full-time star.

Pointing out that his contract is up soon, Bryan admitted that he is still unsure of his future, both inside and out of the ring.

Here are the full quotes:

“It was really bizarre. It’s taken me time to fully process what the experience was like because it wasn’t like a normal thing. I felt very out of body in it. When I’m wrestling, I feel everything and feel like I’m enjoying it. This was weird, I was out there and it felt like I was detached. It was so strange that before the match started, I got this strange feeling like, ‘Oh no, is this what it’s like before you die? Am I going to die? Huh, well, okay.’ I don’t know why or how it happened, but it was unlike anything I’ve felt while wrestling.

“I haven’t watched (the WrestleMania 37 match) back. I don’t know if watching it back would help figure out why I’m so detached. Maybe it was a sign that it’s time to let go of being a full-time wrestler. The odd detachment, I was like, ‘Woah.’ Like I said, I’m either gonna die (laughs) or maybe it’s a sign that this isn’t it and it isn’t the same type of fulfilment that it was before. I’ve been trying to meditate on it and talk to my friends that I’m close with like ‘what is that?’

“my contract is up relatively soon. I’m still trying to figure out what I’m doing with my life.”

It has previously been reported that Bryan’s contract expires in September. It’s odd to think that in less than 6 months time, Bryan could be off our screens.

One star who didn’t appear at WrestleMania at all was Ronda Rousey. In a recent YouTube video, Rousey and Travis Browne revealed that they’re expecting their first child together, due in September.
