WWE has seen it’s fair share of NFL crossover throughout the years, from William ‘The Refrigerator’ Perry at WrestleMania 2, to Lawrence Taylor competing in the main event of WrestleMania 11, to more recent cameos from Rob Gronkowski and George Kittle.
And now it may be time to add yet another to the list as Triple H has invited a former NFL player to any WWE event after noticing a video of them discussing their love for wrestling.
Speaking on his Nightcap podcast, three-time Super Bowl winning tight-end Shannon Sharpe proclaimed his fond memories and love for wrestling, dating back to his childhood.
In a clip posted to Twitter (see below), Sharpe recalls watching the likes of Harley Race, Bobo Brazil, Nick Bockwinkel in his youth, travelling to shows to watch them compete along with his family.
Impressed by Sharpe’s extensive knowledge and love for the business, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H would re-post the clip along with an invitation to Sharpe and the entire crew at Nightcap to attend a future WWE event.
Triple H tweeted:
Love the respect and passion for the history of our business.
@ShannonSharpe and the @NightcapShow_ crew are welcome to join us at a @WWE event any place, any time.
