An update has emerged on NXT stars Jagger Reid (James Drake) and Rip Fowler (Zack Gibson) ahead of their WWE contracts expiring later this year.
Following previous reports, Reid and Fowler confirmed in April that WWE denied their release requests.
Since then, the duo have been used more prominently on NXT TV, with Reid and Fowler even defeating top prospects Julius and Brutus Creed in a Loser Leaves NXT bout on July 4.
Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it is still believed that the duo will leave WWE when their contracts expire on October 14.
Meltzer wrote:
The belief is that Jagger Reid & Rip Fowler, the Dyad, are still leaving when their contracts expire. The expiration date is (October 14).
The duo, previously known as the Grizzled Young Veterans, both made their WWE debuts as part of the NXT UK brand.
While Reid competed in the inaugural UK Championship Tournament in 2017, Fowler first wrestled for WWE in the 2018 edition of the tournament, which he ultimately won.
The former NXT UK Tag Team Champions were rebranded as The Dyad in July 2022, part of Joe Gacy’s Schism faction.
