There has been a backstage update on the status of a NXT star potentially being called up to WWE’s main roster.
The November 17 SmackDown saw the main roster debut of NXT’s Axiom, taking on the recently called up Dragon Lee in singles action.
The bout was well-received by fans but left some to question whether we could expect to see more of Axiom on main roster TV in the future.
Thankfully, we may now know the answer to that question courtesy of Fightful Select, who in a new update are reporting that as far as they have been told Axiom’s SmackDown debut was not in fact an official call-up from NXT.
Despite there being recent full call-ups such as The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile on Raw and Dragon Lee on SmackDown, even if Axiom isn’t officially on the main roster yet, that doesn’t mean we definitely won’t see him pop up on Raw or SmackDown again soon given the numerous crossovers between the brands recently.
Axiom has been a fixture of NXT since 2019 when he debuted as A-Kid in NXT UK, with many excited to see the 26-year-old finally get the chance to compete on WWE’s flagship programming.
While this suggests we may have to wait a bit longer, make sure to stay tuned to WrestleTalk for any further updates.
