If you’re looking for a pep talk after a disappointing loss, would not recommend turning to Baron Corbin as tonight on NXT he gave it to Chase U straight.
Interrupting a backstage segment with Duke Hudson, Andre Chase and Thea Hail, Baron Corbin attempted to quickly end their interview with McKenzie Mitchell where they were addressing Chase throwing in the towel during Hail’s submission match against Tiffany Stratton at Great American Bash.
When Chase took exception with Corbin’s characterization that he ‘destroyed Hail’s dreams’ when he threw in the towel on her behalf during the NXT Women’s Championship submission match, Corbin spoke directly to Hail.
You can check out the entire clip below but he starts with, “Listen little girl…” and definitely goes on to deliver some tough truths about the professional wrestling business!
Namely that it isn’t for everyone and she peaked on Sunday so she should probably pack her things and find something else to do.
Andre Chase for his part was unamused, telling Corbin he couldn’t talk to Thea like that. However, through the segment, the tension within Chase U was palpable.
Thea Hail is clearly not pleased with Andre Chase after he threw in the towel (with Duke Hudson appearing disappointed in the choice immediately after the match).
A singles match between Chase and Corbin was set for later in the show, during which Corbin’s words seem to have had an impact on Hail.
By the end of the match, Thea Hail had expressed her displeasure by throwing in the Chase U towel herself and leaving ringside. Click here to read all about how that match went down.
Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE NXT, a tag team seems to have confirmed that they are parting ways. Click here to read more about that.
