The viewership for this week’s blockbuster World Heavyweight Championship main event between Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins and Bron Breakker has been revealed.
While it was previously reported by Wrestlenomics that NXT did a strong 773,000 viewers on average with a 0.23 in the 18-49 demographic, the specific number for the main event has now been revealed.
According to Brandon Thurston on Twitter, NXT’s main event saw the audience grow between 15-17% with the eight minute overrun seeing a peak viewership of 950,000 and a 0.29 rating in the 18-48 demo.
This impressive figure was compared by Thurston to NXT’s numbers during the ‘Wednesday night war’ era between WWE and AEW, with the number at its highest since 2021.
For comparison, last week’s NXT drew just 581,000 viewers with a 0.16 in the 18-49 demo, a sizable increase to say the least.
The injection of established main roster stars on NXT programming recently has been part of a intentional plan from WWE CEO Nick Khan to boost ratings and integrate Tuesday nights as a ‘third brand’ of WWE programming once again.
This integration looks set to continue on this Friday’s SmackDown (June 23) where the NXT and WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships will be unified by either Ronda Rousey and Shayna Bazsler or Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre.
As well as Rollins, other main roster stars who have been involved on NXT in recent weeks include Baron Corbin, Dana Brooke, Mustafa Ali and Los Lotharios.
Khan will be hoping the upward trend continues when NXT Gold Rush continues next Tuesday, a show headlined by NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes defending his title against Baron Corbin.
Tiffany Stratton also defends her newly acquired NXT Women’s Championship for the first time on TV against 19-year-old Thea Hail.
As well as these two major matches, Nathan Frazer defends the Heritage Cup against Dragon Lee, and Gallus aim to keep their NXT Tag Team Championship against Edris Enofe and Malik Blade.

The 8-minute overrun averaged 950,000 and a 0.29 P18-49 rating.
I have a gap in my NXT quarter-hours data for much of 2021, but this week's overrun is on the level of NXT's most-viewed overruns or quarter-hours during the Wednesday Night War. https://t.co/5NibjJxPbw
