AEW TNT Champion Wardlow has hinted at an upcoming character change, following a recent promo.
On the September 7 edition of Dynamite, Wardlow destroyed Tony Nese to to retain his title. Following the bout, Wardlow cut a passionate promo, stating that it’s time to remind the locker-room that this is Wardlow’s world.
Speaking with the Daily Gazette, Wardlow noted that he feels he’s entering a new stage in his life.
When asked if the promo was meant to serve as a statement of purpose moving forward, Wardlow said:
“Absolutely. There’s some changes. I’m just entering a new era in my life. I’m evolving, things are changing. I’ve just become a hungrier, more intense version of myself, and I’m ready to display that and I’m ready to let the rest of the world feel that.”
Wardlow notably didn’t defend his title at All Out. Instead, he teamed with FTR to face off against Jay Lethal and the Motor City Machine Guns. The TNT Champion has since been added to the poster for AEW’s November pay-per-view Full Gear.
