This past weekend, The Undertaker buried AJ Styles. Literally, he buried him. Well, literally in the kayfabe sense of the word. I doubt he actually killed him in real life.
One thing that was a bit odd though was that Taker returned to an American Badass version of his character. You’d think doing the Boneyard Match would have lent itself to the more Undertaker style Undertaker.
On the other hand, the promos that led up to the event were definitely more realistic than most, if any, of Taker’s storylines previously. He allowed for his real name to be used, his wife was name-dropped, and they even used his real-life social media accounts.
So, which persona will we see the next time Undertaker appears on WWE Television? WrestleVotes has answered that question today on Twitter.
All indications from three different sources I’ve spoke to believe that whenever we see The Undertaker next, it will indeed be this new ABA style Taker from “The Boneyard” match this past Saturday.

It looks like The American Bad Ass is here to stay. Well, at least for the time being.
Personally, I believe this is a good thing. The most recent versions of The Deadman had felt a bit past their prime. In a world where we have so much access to social media, it’s hard to suspend your belief and watch a guy who supposedly can make lightning appear.
While there was still some mystical stuff in the Boneyard Match, a tough dude riding in on a motorcycle is a lot easier to accept than a dead person who wrestles.
There was no mention of when Undertaker will appear on television again.
Let us know which Taker you prefer on Twitter.
